Handcrafted by skilled artisans in Switzerland, the Akari 50en embodies the perfect fusion of design and functionality.

Isamu Noguchi’s vision for the Akari Light Sculptures was to capture the essence of lightness and luminosity in a captivating way. The name ‘akari’ itself, meaning ‘light’ in Japanese, perfectly encapsulates the beauty and ethereal quality of these sculptures. Each Akari light is meticulously crafted using traditional washi paper sourced from the mulberry tree, giving it a unique and natural texture that adds a soft glow to the surroundings.

Inspired by his travels to Gifu, a town renowned for its paper lantern craftsmanship, Noguchi created the Akari series to bring a touch of Japanese artistry to modern design. The careful process of bamboo ribbing and paper applications results in a lampshade that is not only visually stunning but also functional in its illumination.

Whether you are looking to complete your contemporary decor or add a touch of elegance to your space, the Akari 50en pendant lamp is a must-have statement piece.
