##### About Blog

The Akari 23a pendant lamp is a stunning addition to any modern interior design scheme. Designed by the legendary Isamu Noguchi, this exquisite piece is handcrafted in Switzerland using traditional Japanese paper and steel materials. The Akari Light Sculptures collection is renowned for its unique blend of artistry and functionality, and the Akari 23a is no exception.

Each Akari Light Sculpture is carefully crafted by skilled artisans, resulting in a luminaire that exudes a weightless luminosity. The name ‘akari’ itself means ‘light’ in Japanese, reflecting the lamp’s dual purpose of illumination and physical lightness. Noguchi’s inspiration for the Akari series came from a visit to Gifu, where he witnessed the traditional craftsmanship of paper parasols and lanterns.

The Akari 23a features a striking Japanese paper lampshade that is both elegant and durable. The washi paper is meticulously cut and glued to a bamboo ribbing, creating a unique texture and diffusing the light in a soft, inviting manner. The lamp is designed to be both practical and visually appealing, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate beautiful design.

Whether you place it in a living room, dining area, or bedroom, the Akari 23a will instantly elevate the ambiance of any space. Its simple yet sophisticated design makes it a versatile addition to any decor style, from minimalist to contemporary. Add a touch of elegance to your home with the Akari 23a pendant lamp and experience the timeless beauty of Isamu Noguchi’s iconic design.
